The conflict between Israel, Iran and the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon has escalated significantly recently – but this does not mean that the Israeli military has paused its operation against Hamas in Gaza.
The violence that marked Wednesday is clear proof of that. Attacks against Khan Yunis in the southern part of Gaza began early in the day. At least 51 people were killed and over 80 injured in the major air and ground attack, according to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry.
Later in the evening, there were reports of an attack on yet another UN school, one of several in recent months.
Eight people died in the attack and several were injured, including children, according to hospital staff in the area. The school building was used by the UN aid organization for refugees, URNWA.
According to the Israeli military, the IDF, a “precision attack” was carried out against a former girls’ school. They claim it was used as a control center by Hamas.
