British Met Office signs Twitter that several heat records in Southern Europe will probably be broken during the coming week.
During the day, for example, another heat wave is expected to move in over Italy. In Rome, temperatures could reach 40 degrees and even 43 degrees on Tuesday, which would break the heat record in the city set in August 2007.
The islands of Sicily and Sardinia can during the same period be affected by temperatures as high as 48 degrees, warns the European Space Agency (ESA).
