With a future Dying Light 2 expansion pack, some content that is not added to the game may be added, even on the basis of inspiration.
The Dying Light 2 expansion pack may add some of the content removed from the game, one way or another. Speaking about “cut content”, which is one of the biggest curiosity of the players, chief designer Tymon Smektala emphasized that the content that is not added to the game is usually the parts that are left from the draft phase of the game and are not removed.
Content or regions coming with the Dying Light 2 expansion pack can be inspired by removed content
Tymon Smektala stated that it is much easier to add new regions or content to the game, rather than reworking the content that has not been added to the game;
” What some players don’t understand is that the remnants of content they find in the game files are not all content cut from the game. Most of them are actually parts of old prototypes that we forgot to clean from the files. “
In other words, Tymon stated that the models or names that are seen as cut content are not really something to focus on;
” Adding these pieces back to the game and trying to extract content from them is much more difficult and expensive than adding something brand new to the game from the beginning. We will of course add new regions to the game with new expansion packs, but these contents will be designed from scratch.”
It is possible that players will see a lot of “cut content” during the development process of Dying Light 2, which is planned to be supported for at least 5 years.
