(Tiper Stock Exchange) – 71% of Italians have adopted sustainable behaviors at home and as many as 69% have adapted their habits for the purpose of greater energy savings, also to reduce costs. But there is a strong need for expert advice on responsible consumption.
This is what emerges from the first edition of “Agos Insight. The new sustainable consumption”made by August (consumer credit company 61% owned by Credit Agricole and 39% owned by Banco BPM) in collaboration with Eumeter and destined to become a “annual appointment” to monitor the habits of families on the green front with the aim of “offering suitable answers to support the transition in a sustainable key”.
The research shows how attention to sustainability is indeed a topical and heartfelt theme for around 90% of the interviewees, but not always feasible in everyday life. Italians seem very interested in the potential for improvements in the energy class of homes (90%) and appliances (94%). However, only 38% are aware of the impact of the use of household appliances on their bills and only 51% are aware of the energy class of their property.
There is therefore a strong request for advice from companies and retailers, which should help to unravel the maze of differences and make the advantages of a green solution better understood, a need expressed by 82%.
For the moment, inflation has always been on the rise in 2022. I don’t think it will be like this in 2023, because in my opinion the peak of inflation was at the end of last year”. Francois Edouard Drion, A margin of the presentation of the “Agos Insight” research on sustainable consumption. “For us – he continued – there is an impact on demand because we have seen a bit of a slowdown in credit demand and there is also a risk dimension because the purchasing power of our customers is a bit lower, but I don’t think that it is a structural difficulty for us and therefore we are attentive to all indicators of market evolution. We have a flexible policy and therefore I believe that the growth of the consumer credit industry will be in 2024 as in the past years, around 5%. We are in a year of transition.”
“We have a structural relationship with Banco Bpm, which is our leading partner in terms of consumer credit activities through branches and is also our shareholder with 39%. I believe that the partnership with Banco BPM is truly win-win”, Drion added. “We believe we have growth potential also together with our friends from the insurance side. It is truly an example of a good partnership in Italy“, he concluded.
