Montfoort – Under the loud cheers of six hundred children and fireworks, the first pile of the new school complex was driven in Montfoort today. Three primary schools (Hobbitstee, the Howiblo and the Graaf Jan van Montfoort) and a childcare center are to be built in the complex, which are still in very outdated buildings. There has been discussion for years about the location of the new school in particular. Alderman Kees van Dalen (CDA) is pleased that construction has finally started. “This is a festive moment, a bright future for the three schools. We are looking forward to it.”
