(Finance) – In January, theISTAT estimates a new positive change in the seasonally adjusted index of construction production, for which growth is observed both in the monthly series (the third consecutive) and in the quarterly series. Construction production in January 2023 recorded the highest levels since March 2022. The positive trend was confirmed also in comparison with the previous year.
In detail, the Institute of Statistics estimates that the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction will increase by 1.4% compared to December 2022.
In the average for the November 2022-January 2023 quarter construction production grew by 3.0% compared to the previous quarter.
On a trend basis, the index adjusted for calendar effects (there were 21 calendar working days against 20 in January 2022) recorded an increase of 5.9%, while the raw index increased by 9.6%.
