Constitution and parliament will be suspended for 3 months in Syria

After the overthrow of the 61-year-old Baath regime and the 53-year bloody rule of the Assad family in Syria, all eyes turned to the transition process. Interim government spokesman Ubeyde Arnaut announced in his statement that the constitution and parliament will be suspended during the 3-month transition period.

“OUR PRIORITY IS TO PROTECT AND PROTECT INSTITUTIONS”

“The judiciary and human rights committee will be established to examine the Constitution and then submit amendments,” spokesman Arnaut said. Arnaut said, “This transition period will last 3 months. Our priority is to protect and protect institutions.” Emphasizing that they will establish the rule of law, Arnaut said, “Anyone who commits crimes against the Syrian people will be tried according to the law.” Touching on the issue of religious and personal freedoms, Arnaut said, “We respect the religious and cultural diversity in Syria.”

THE INTERIM GOVERNMENT WILL OFFICE UNTIL MARCH 1

On the other hand, Mohammed al-Bashir, the leader of the Syrian Salvation Government, previously declared by the opposition in Idlib in the northwest of the country, announced in his statement on December 10 that he was appointed as the interim prime minister of the Syrian government until March 1, 2025.
