Console Commands – Use these inputs to improve your gaming experience

In Counter-Strike you can use console commands to get information about your FPS or latency and practice in training matches. We’ll show you which commands you should know.

What are Console Commands? In Counter-Strike you can open a text window in which you can enter various commands. These commands can then be used to activate settings that, for example, improve your gaming experience.

Some console commands help you limit your FPS, others are suitable for practicing grenade line-ups. Here we will show you which console commands are available in CS2 and how to use them.

Enable CS2 Console Commands

How do I activate the commands? To activate the console commands in CS2, you have to go to the game’s settings. There you will find the option to “Activate developer console” under the “Game” tab.

Here are the individual steps again:

  • Open Settings
  • Select the “Game” tab
  • Select “Yes” for the “Enable developer console” setting

    • If you have activated the developer console, you can open it with the Gravis key (`). Alternatively, you can set a new key assignment for opening the developer console under “Settings>Keyboard/Mouse>UI>Open Console”.

    If you have set the activation of the developer console and successfully opened it using the corresponding key, you can now enter various commands.

    CS2 Console Commands for FPS and Latency

    With these commands you can make different settings regarding your FPS (frames per second) via the developer console:

  • cl_showfps 1
  • fps_max_x
  • Set a value to limit your FPS. Simply replace the “x” in the command with the value you want.
  • If you write a “0” instead of “x”, you deactivate the FPS limit
  • cq_netgraph 1
  • Shows you information about your latency in the top right corner of the screen
  • cq_netgraph 2
  • Shows you information about your latency in the top right corner of the screen, using the graph from CS:GO and not the new one from CS2
  • cq_netgraph 0
  • Deactivates the displayed Netgraph again

    • CS2 Console Commands for practice

    In Counter-Strike you have the opportunity to use certain console commands for practice. Here we list a few commands that you can use in training lobbies. However, first you have to enable the use of cheats.

    How do I activate cheats? In order to activate some commands, you must first allow the use of cheats. To do this, enter the following command:

  • sv_cheats true
  • The “true” specifies that you allow the cheats.
  • If you write “false” instead of “true”, you will be banned from using the cheats again.

    • Which commands are suitable for practicing? Here we list some console commands that will help you practice better. The different commands give you infinite ammunition, the ability to buy weapons and gadgets at any time, or even let you fly.

  • lets you fly like a ghost and traverse walls

  • sets the round timer of a bomb match to 60 minutes
  • sv_infinite_ammo 1
  • gives you unlimited ammunition
  • mp_respawn_on_death_ct 1
  • Respawns as a counter-terrorist after a death

  • Respawns as a terrorist after a death
  • mp_restartgame 1
  • Start the match from the beginning
  • mp_buytime 60000
  • stipulates that you can buy weapons and gadgets throughout the round
  • mp_buy_anywhere 1
  • Specifies that you can buy weapons and gadgets anywhere on a map
  • mp_maxmoney 20000
  • determines how much money you can have in total
  • mp_startmoney 20000
  • You use the money to start a match (it may be that the command only works after restarting a match)
  • mp_afterroundmoney 20000
  • You get the money at the end of a round
