Consistent silence from Northvolt CEO Peter Carlsson – the expert: “Big problems”

SVT and other media have sought Northvolt’s CEO Peter Carlsson on several occasions for a long time, both because of the deaths among employees but also because of the financial crisis the company is in.

Northvolt: “Peter works hard”

SVT has repeatedly searched for Peter Carlssson via phone and email without success.

– Peter Carlsson is working hard on the strategic review to ensure a good result. There will be an opportunity for interviews when we have progressed further in the various processes, explains the company’s information manager Matti Kataja in an email.

Jeanette Fors-Andrée sees the handling as a sign of how serious the crisis is for the company and that there is a gap in expectations because he was so available before.

– The disadvantage is that he has built up a profile that is available to the media in good times and then there is an expectation that it will also apply in bad times. The silence is a sign of serious problems. The company believes that they do not profit from being available to the media. When he stands up next time, he must have solutions to come up with, says Jeanette Fors-Andrée.

“Saves on the CEO card”

– It can be a strategy to save on the “CEO card”. When he steps in and speaks, it gives a certain weight, says Jeanette Fors-Andrée.

When SVT sends an email to Carlsson, it is instead the company’s information manager Matti Kataja who replies:

Appreciate it if you send interview requests to me directly instead of sending them to others who then forward them to me in the end anyway… We’ll get back to you about the possibility of an interview a little later.
