Bolsonaro supporters have broken through a blockade and stormed Congress in Brazil’s capital Brasilia on Sunday, CNN Brasil reports.

The protesters are said to have succeeded in invading the Supreme Court as well as the plenary session of the Planalto Palace, which is the seat of the executive power.

Veneziano Vital do Rêgo, Acting Senate President, confirms to CNN that protesters have invaded the building.

Supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro have previously shown dissatisfaction with new president Lula da Silva, who was recently sworn in as president.
