Congress Committee is canceled after the member was misunderstood

Big Drill in the House of Representatives • Missed Transperson twice • See the clip

A meeting in the US House of Representatives has been interrupted after a Republican chairman called a democratic trans woman “Mister”.
The incident led to an upset word exchange.
– Mr. President, you have no shame in the body, says Democrat Bill Keating during the meeting.

It was during a negotiation in the House of Representatives’ Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday that Sarah McBride, the first transgender in the US congress, was introduced as “Mister McBride” by the chairman of the meeting, Republican Keith Self.

Sarah McBride then responded with “Mrs. Chairman”.

When the hearing began, Democrat Bill Keating, who sat next to the chairman, broke in:

– Can you repeat that introduction are you kind?

– Absolutely. The representative from Delaware: Mister McBride, said the chairman.

The exchange of words was heated

Keating then said that Self had crossed the border and asked if he had no shame in the body.

“Now we move on,” said the chairman.

– Not until you introduce a people -elected politician properly.

But the chairman did not give up, but soon hit the club in the table and said the meeting was postponed.

Not the first time

Sarah McBride herself says afterwards that she is disappointed that the meeting was closed and that she did not have to pursue questions about, among other things, US support for European countries.

This is not the first time Republicans call Sarah McBride a man.

The error sexes also coincide with other measures directed at transgender people in Congress, including a policy from President Mike Johnson, which means that trans women’s dressing rooms or toilets in the Capitol and neighboring buildings are not allowed to use.
