With a total of 15 seasons as a professional hockey player, 10 of which in the NHL Tommy Salo played with a number of world stars. For Sportbibeln, he takes out his absolute dream five with players he shared a dressing room with during his career, see it below.

Salo’s career
Everything took off when Salo left small IK Westmannia-Köping to play in the SHL ahead of the 1992-1993 season, just two seasons later the moving team went on to North America and the NHL.

There, Salo guarded the cash register for the teams New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche before ending his career with three more years in the SHL. Over the years, Tommy Salo has played with countless world stars in both Sweden and North America.
Lidas takes his place
Therefore, he can select a very impactful dream five, with himself in goal. On the flip side, the Islanders teammate takes Kenny Jonsson place together with a certain Nicklas Lidström.

The latter played in Västerås when Tommy Salo got the chance in the SHL for the first time and played two games in the club’s A team in the 1990/1991 season.
– There are two defenders capable of playing and good with the puck and understanding of the game. They make it easy both for me and for the players in front, says Salo to Sportbibeln.

With the Colorado Avalanche, Salo got his big chance at a Stanley Cup title, but it wasn’t enough all the way. Despite that, he got the chance to play with some real superstars, and it is also from the “Avs” that all the forwards are taken.

What would it have been like to be pitted against them? Not fun at all, according to Salo himself.
– It’s a very offensive five I’ve taken out with very good hockey players who are capable of playing. I think everyone would have been terrified to face that five. They had had to chase a lot of the puck anyway. Defensively, they might have had to work as well and they had clearly scored more goals than they conceded, he tells Sportbibeln.
