It has been just over six years since the nasty accident.
Now she shows off her new passion in life and is widely praised.
More than six years have passed since the nasty accident in Innichen, Italy on December 19, 2016. The Swedish skiing star Anna Holmlund was one of the world’s best ski crossers and was at the peak of his sports career when the unimaginable happened during a training session.
Holmlund’s accident
Holmlund lost control of his body and his skis and crashed violently on the ski slope. She suffered life-threatening head injuries and fought for her life after being sedated and then placed in an induced coma.

After five months of being sedated, Anna Holmlund woke up again and survived everything like a miracle. After that, it has been a long and difficult road back with many hours of tough rehabilitation for the Swede who has become a role model for so many.
Anna’s new passion
Her great struggle to return to a normal everyday life has inspired many Swedes and all have been impressed by the incredible will and determination that Anna has shown over the years after the accident. These days she can get around without a wheelchair and her speech has improved significantly.

Anna Holmlund turns 36 today and continues to post on social media to show what everyday life is like and what progress she is making. Often it is about rehab training, but she has also started painting for fine motor skills and her new passion in life is swimming, see the picture below.

Last summer Anna swam the classic race in Vansbro and even in October she still swims outdoors. Her posts on Instagram always get plenty of likes and many tributes in the comments section, see the picture below.
