The local and municipal councillors, also called grand electors, of the twelve departments of Congo-Brazzaville were called to the polls on Sunday August 20 to renew the Senate. In view of the results, which are not yet final, the Congolese Labor Party (PCT) of President Denis Sassou Nguesso, who has been in power for 40 years, will retain its dominance over this institution.
