According to CNN, based on two unnamed American officials, a US Navy warship operating in the Middle East detected and blocked multiple missiles near Yemen, whose target location was unknown. One of the officials stated that the missiles were fired by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen.

US Department of Defense Spokesperson Brigadier General Pat Ryder stated that the USS Carney of the US Navy, stationed in the Red Sea, shot down 3 missiles and approximately 8 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Yemen, and stated that the missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles were potentially launched towards targets in Israel.

On the other hand, Iranian state television published a news story explaining how Israel could be attacked by its allies in the region, which Tehran calls “resistance forces”, if its attacks on Gaza are not stopped.
