Conflict in eastern DRC concern of the international community MONUSCO

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, President Félix Tshisekedi chaired a strategic meeting of the Superior Defense Council on Friday evening. This meeting, bringing together the country’s main security officials, takes place in a context of crisis in North Kivu, marked by the escalation of fighting around twenty kilometers from Goma and the death of the military governor of the province Peter Cirimwami. On the diplomatic front, concern is growing and a meeting of the United Nations Security Council is announced for this Monday.
