The most successful freestyle competitor throughout Finland will participate in the tournament organized by the Oktagon organization.
The European freestyle organization Oktagon MMA confirmed on Friday that it will organize a million-euro tournament in 2024.
The competition is held in the lightweight weight class. There is a 35-year-old number one player throughout Finland Makwan Amirkhani.
Amirkhani’s previous fight was in the UFC in March, the most prestigious promotion in the sport. The Finn’s UFC career was 14 fights long. He won seven of those fights.
Amirkhani has previously fought in the featherweight division, but he will move up a weight class in the Octagon. 16 competitors will participate in the million euro tournament.
The first match night of the tournament is scheduled to take place on March 2 in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Oktagon, one of Europe’s largest freestyle organizations, is a new territorial conquest for Amirkhani. The Finn has never once competed in the organization’s events.
Amirkhani’s goal has been to compete in 2023 before the tournament. Originally, according to ‘s information, the target was on the match night in Prague on December 29, but Oktagon has had difficulty finding a suitable opponent for Amirkhan, because many fighters in the weight class want to be able to participate in the million-euro tournament healthy.
Amirkhani previously confirmed to that the goal was to find an opponent by the end of the year.

Amirkhani has fought a total of 26 times in his professional career. The balance has accumulated 17 wins and nine losses.
