In recent years, it has been revealed that sexually explicit video content, which has reached frightening dimensions, has negative effects on young women and men. These contents, which can be easily accessed from a computer, smartphone or tablet, spread over the internet in a completely uncontrolled manner. It has been revealed that porn movies, which have serious effects especially on young women, have negative effects on men as well.
British journalist Jenni Murray focused on this problem in Europe, examined sexual content sites and then got expert opinions. Young men who regularly watch explicit content, sometimes alone or with girlfriends or boyfriend groups, have been found to struggle with ailments such as erectile dysfunction and depression.
THE NUMBER OF PORN VIEWERS IS INCREASING EVERY DAY
There is growing evidence that the number of young women who regularly watch pornography in Europe is increasing, and that this is causing serious harm. The most popular site, Pornhub, has more than 15 million monthly visitors and it turns out that over a third of its regular users are women. Doctors and psychotherapists have spoken of their concerns about the impact it has on women’s sex lives.
“THEY ARE FEAR OF SEX”
Psychosexual expert Dr. Laura Jarvis said: “The increasingly extreme nature of adult content scares young women into sex. Often times, they don’t want to do what’s expected of them because it’s painful or not enjoyable.”
A consulting gynecologist, Dr. Leila Frodsham stated that the cases of vaginismus (fear of vaginal penetration) exploded among the patients who applied to her. A recent report in the British Medical Journal says an increase in intimate injuries and infections among young women is linked to situations of risky and aggressive sexual acts.
