Conditions for future wind power | SVT News

As part of the climate and energy transition, wind power needs to be expanded, according to several assessors. At the same time, a large percentage of permit applications are rejected as a result of the municipalities concerned using their veto and the local population saying no to the construction.

The so-called incentive investigation was appointed in April 2022 and mainly has two tasks. One task is to propose a system for compensation to local communities and those whose surroundings are significantly affected by wind power development. The second assignment is to submit proposals to strengthen the municipalities’ incentives to participate in expanded wind power.

The proposals for increased incentives must be financed by the wind power operators.

To this seminar, SNS has invited the special investigator for a discussion about the investigation’s proposal.
