A year ago it was a ‘fantastic year’ for the heathland, because it was a wet summer then. “The brown parts don’t look very nice now, but heather can sow well, so as soon as it rains again, the heather can recover well,” explains the forester. Still, she thinks we shouldn’t look the other way. “Drought does not only affect the heathland, but all of nature. And it seems that the drought will only increase, because a warm period is coming soon.”
