Concern that investigations are being put on hold

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The Crime Victims’ Helpline is concerned that many criminal investigations in the country will be shelved. This as many police officers are now reinforcing the Stockholm area after the recent shootings and explosions.

The violence has recently escalated, especially in the Stockholm area. Therefore, hundreds of police officers from other parts of the country have been sent to Stockholm.

This can have major consequences for other victims of crime, says the Victims’ Help Desk.

– I am very worried about that. It is tragic, too many plaintiffs suffer because their investigation is being postponed, says Sven-Erik Alhem, chairman.

About 30 policemen have been sent down from the Northern region, and there they admit that investigations of everyday crimes in particular will take longer, as they must be prioritised.
