Based on the novel of the same name by Ernest Cline, Ready Player One takes you to the year 2045. The earth is a desolate place and people prefer to take refuge there virtual worlds. For young Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan), almost his entire life takes place in the rooms of the OASIS, which he enters through his virtual reality glasses.

Spielberg also made extensive use of the motion capture process in the dizzying OASIS scenes.
