There is chaos at the European Athletics Championships in Rome.

Friday morning about Finnish athletes, among other things Lotta Haralan and Saga Vannisen the bus ride from the hotel to the stadium took a lot longer than the recovery time due to the crash and the traffic jam. Logistical arrangements have already frustrated the Finnish team before.

On the eve of the match day, I was confused by how shabby and untidy the stands and toilets were in the Stadio Olimpico, for example.

Lotta Harala, who had the fastest time of the entire group in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles, asked for water at ‘s interview point. It was not distributed to the athletes at field level.

– I have a very dry mouth.

Harala was also surprised that there were no fences on the exercise field.

The organizers have stated everywhere to the athletes’ questions only that “this is the first day”.

In the women’s 1,500 meters, the one who narrowly missed the preliminaries also had special complaints Sara Lappalainen.

He complained that there are only two toilets on the training ground. There was also a shortage of toilets in the call room, where the athletes wait to enter the stadium before the h-moment.

– There was an awful rush. There was no toilet paper, so everyone was in a panic, Lappalainen laughed.

– It hasn’t been completely ready here. Mostly we media representatives have distributed water bottles to the athletes. Vomiting bags were distributed. The Italian organizers say that if everything is not quite ready, it’s only because this is the first day, reporter Laura Arffman chatted at the end of the morning session on the opening day.

Editor of Petra Manner on the other hand, said that the call room had run out of toilet paper “all day”.
