In the Comoros, the Ministry of the Interior in charge of elections is under fire from critics. The cause ? The appointment of three regional directors of elections, one director per island. This position, so far non-existent, is in fact arousing controversy, with some jurists deeming it illegal because the Electoral Code only provides for “territorially decentralized electoral institutions”.
