That follows The Crazy Indians Brotherhood providing a free hot meal and fellowship Sunday.

Hope Haven general manager Loree Bailey said the more than 80 visitors seen each day stretches the group to the limit. Other Chatham-Kent groups see the growing need and want to help.

“We couldn’t do this alone,” Bailey said. “This community has always embraced us and our desire to help those who are really struggling.”

She said Hope Haven is a space that people know and trust.

“We want to make the biggest impact possible on individual lives in Chatham-Kent,” she said. “Through events like this, we believe we can get our message across.

“People love you, no matter your situation,” she added. “There is always hope.”

Hope Haven is open daily from 10 am to 1:45 pm at 183 Wellington St. W.

Donations of food, gift cards and money are always welcome and needed and can be brought to the back door during operating hours.
