In Pokémon GO, Community Day in July 2023 brings the water Pokémon Quapsel. And that shouldn’t be underestimated.

What is this event? Community Day always brings a monster that takes center stage for several hours and appears throughout the game. In addition, the shiny rate is increased and you get some bonuses on top of it.

When is Community Day? Community Day with Quapsel starts on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. local time and runs until 5:00 p.m.

What makes Quapsel interesting? The little tadpole Pokémon doesn’t look particularly impressive at first, and its evolutions don’t play a major role as attackers in Pokémon GO raids either.

But the development Quappo can convince elsewhere, namely the PvP battle league. And the Community Day brings another really strong upgrade for Quapsels developments.

  • Quappo learns the move Counterattack if you evolve it from Quaputzi during the event or up to 5 hours after
  • And the alternate evolution, Quaxo, learns Ice Beam if you evolve it from Quaputzi in the same period

    • In the Pokémon GO subreddit TheSilphRoad, Quappo’s “Counter” is causing a stir. That would go from a decent fight league contender to an absolute meta pick, explains one user (via Reddit). PvP expert JRE47 also emphasizes, based on PvPoke simulations, that Quappo is becoming really powerful in the league (via Reddit).

    So if you like to be in the fighting league, you should strike here. In addition, some users emphasize that they have had very good experiences with Quappo in the fight against Team Rocket (via Reddit).
