Norfolk County’s “Community Day” is becoming “Community Days” featuring a full week of activities.
During the event, which runs June 3 to 10, county facilities in each ward including community centres, museums, libraries, fire halls, pools, arenas, and parks, will welcome members of the community to attend free recreational, social and cultural activities.
The county is also partnering with local community groups and businesses to offer other events like a “Touch A Truck”, brewery tours and live music throughout the week.
This year’s event will conclude with the newly expanded Norfolk Night Market, hosted by the Norfolk County Agricultural Society, on June 9 and June 10. The night market is an open-air vendor event that will include concerts sponsored by AMPLIFY Norfolk each night featuring local talent and national headliners.
Both nights will feature a “Party on the Track” event before and during the concerts, county officials said in a statement.
Community groups and local businesses interested in participating in or partnering on events are encouraged to contact Norfolk County staff member and project lead, Matt McGinty. Organizers are also looking for volunteers to support the event.
“Norfolk Community Days is a great way for the folks of Norfolk to reconnect with their communities and enjoy a variety of exciting activities we have to offer,” McGinty said.
Sponsorship opportunities to support Community Days including event sponsorships, prize donations and in-kind contributions are also available.
Local businesses interested in participating can contact McGinty at [email protected] for more information.
