FISH AND CHIPS: Waterford Legion will be offering fish and chips to eat in or take out on May 13. To order call 519-443-5123 from 3-5 pm Serving from 5-6:30 pm Cost is $11 for one piece of fish and $15 for two pieces.

WAMPUS KAT (WINGS) PUB NIGHT: Friday, May 13, starting at 5 pm at the Wagner Memorial Teeterville Legion, Branch 526 for a great night of celebrating. Serving ‘wings and things’ until sold out. Karaoke upstairs. Call the Legion at 519-443-5588 for more information.

SHREDDING DAY: A document shredding event is being held from 9 am to noon on Saturday, May 14 in the Staples parking lot at Highways 3 and 24 in Simcoe. Documents are shredded on site. Cost is $10 per box or by donation. Funds go to Crime Stoppers of Haldimand and Norfolk. For more information call 519-426-3434 ext 7452.

PLANT SALE: On Saturday, May 14 the Simcoe and District Society will be hosting their annual plant sale at the Junior Farmers building parking lot at the Simcoe fairgrounds from 8:30 to 11:30 am Many vendors participating: a vegetable grower, flower grower , lily grower, perennial grower, some arts and crafts and a garage sale. DEBATE NIGHT: The Simcoe & District Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Provincial Election Debate Night from 6:30 to 9 pm on May 19 at the Simcoe Legion, West Street, Simcoe. This is an opportunity for voters to learn more about the candidates vying to be MPP for the Haldimand-Norfolk riding and their platforms prior to the June 2 provincial election. Doors open at 6 p.m. Co-sponsored by the Simcoe & District Real Estate Board.

QUIZ NIGHT: Come out and test your knowledge at the Waterford Legion Pub Quiz Night held Friday, May 20 starting at 7 pm in the legion clubroom.

GOLF TOURNAMENT: Waterford Legion Terry Anderson Memorial Golf Tournament and Steak BBQ will be held Saturday, May 28 at Springview Farm Golf Course near Waterford. More details and registration are available at Waterford Legion. Steak BBQ begins at 5:30 pm

ARCADY CONCERT: Arcady will present the acclaimed music drama, Ruth, on Saturday, May 28 at 4 pm at Whistling Gardens in Wilsonville. The concert will open with the premiere of “Song of the Sun” written by Emerging Artist Emma Verdonk of Brantford. As a special offer to ticket purchasers, a free pre-concert Zoom chat with Ruth scholar Enid Pottinger will take place on Tuesday, May 24, 7-8 pm. OPEN JAM NIGHT: On Saturday, May 28 (the last Saturday of every month) it’s Open Jam Night at Wagner Memorial Teeterville Legion, Branch 526, starting at 3 pm Everyone is welcome to bring an instrument or just come out and listen to the music .

GARDEN AUCTION & PLANT SALE: On Tuesday, May 31, it’s the annual Tillsonburg Horticultural Society Garden Auction & Plant Sale in the Lions Auditorium, Tillsonburg Community Center. Start time is 5 pm for the sale of plants, draw tables. The auction begins at 6 pm Open to all.

YFC GOLF TOURNAMENT: This year’s Youth For Christ Golf Tournament is Saturday, June 4 at the 18-hole Oxford Hills Golf Club in Mount Elgin. The fundraising four-player YFC scramble will have a 1 pm shotgun start. Dinner to follow in the new banquet hall. EDISON FEST: Join us June 4th for the return of Edison Fest, 10 am to 7 pm in Vienna’s Memorial Park. Return of vendors, music, food and more! New this year is the Canadian Raptor Conservancy show, Bubbleology, and Craig the Science Guy. A fun family day with face painting, balloon twists, bouncy castles and more. OTTERVILLE MILL CLASSIC CAR SHOW: Spectator admission is $4 for this year’s 25th anniversary Otterville Mill Classic Car Show on June 11 in Otterville. Vehicle registration is 8-12 and awards presented at 3:30 pm Rain or shine. There will be a community-wide yard sale in Otterville on the same day. MSC TRAIL WALK AND RUN: It’s back! The 2022 Tillsonburg Multi-Service Center Trail Walk & Run is Saturday, June 12, with a new location this year. Two-km and five-km courses around scenic Lake Lisgar start (10:30 am) and finish at Memorial Park in Tillsonburg near the Kinsmen Bandshell. Swag bags and prizes. If you would like assistance pre-registering on the MSC website to participate, of if you would like to sponsor the event, or volunteer on the June 12 event day, contact Jen Olcsvary at 519-403-6669. Register as a team or individual ($40). Children 12-and-under free. Support the MSC and its many community programs like Meals on Wheels, transportation, and literacy tutoring.

SENIOR CENTER JEWELRY SALE: The Tillsonburg Senior Center is hosting a Jewelry and Accessories Sale on Saturday, June 25, 9 am – 12 noon. We will have gently-used, good quality purses, shoes, belts, jewelry, hats, gloves and other accessories, all priced at $2 each. No admission charge, but you must wear a mask in order to shop with us. All welcome! Proceeds support programs and activities at the Senior Center, 45 Hardy Ave. on the north side of the Tillsonburg Community Centre.

SENIOR CENTER SUMMER BAZAAR: The Tillsonburg Senior Center Crafters welcome you to a summer craft bazaar on Saturday, June 25, 9 am – 12 noon. Shop beautiful hand-made items such as quilts, household items, baby sweaters and much, much more, along with great Christmas-themed items. No admission, all welcome, but you must wear a mask in order to shop with us. Located at 45 Hardy Ave. on the north side of the Tillsonburg Community Centre. All proceeds support ongoing programs at the senior centre.

PICKLEBALL: Norfolk County recreation department is offering pickleball in Port Dover and Delhi. Sessions are Mondays and Tuesdays at the Port Dover Community Center and Thursdays at Delhi District Secondary School. Cost is $5 per player. For more information and to register go to bit.ly/3rVUHop.

INDOOR WALKS: Supervised indoor walking sessions are being held for those ages 14 and older on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Simcoe Recreation Centre. Organizers encourage people to bring their own ankle/hand weights and distance trackers. Participants need to wear comfortable non-slip running shoes and bring a mask.
