(Finance) – The Supervisory Board of Commerzbank he named Carsten Schmitt new financial director of the bank. Schmitt will take over from Bettina Orloppafter Commerzbank’s CFO was also appointed CEO in October.
The handover is expected by spring 2025.
Carsten Schmitt joins from Danske Bank, where he served as Executive Vice President for Group Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions, reporting directly to the CFO since 2021. Previously, he worked for Commerzbank in various positions for more than 20 years.
“I look forward to working with Carsten again. He will enrich the board of directors with his extensive financial experience and strategic foresight and help unleash the great potential we see for Commerzbank,” said the CEO of Commerzbank, Bettina Orloppcommenting on the nomination.
