The members of the future Assembly of the transition are known. The names of these deputies were published this weekend in Ouagadougou. This list includes well-known personalities from the political sphere, but also complete strangers. According to observers, this new assembly does not include enough specialists to face the challenges of the refoundation announced by Lieutenant-Colonel Paul Henri Damiba.

In this future Assembly, we find Luc Adolphe Tiaothe last Prime Minister of Blaise Compaoré, professor Abdoulaye Soma, president of the non-aligned former opposition; civil society actors such as Doctor Arouna Louré of the Revolted movement, Pascal Zaidaspokesperson for the National Coordination for a Successful Transition, Valentin Yamkoudougou of the Sauvons le Burkina movement and the president of the National Youth Council of Burkina Faso Moumouni Dialla are also on the list.
Pupils, students, farmers, mechanics, poultry farmers, lawyers, teachers, defense and security forces, traders, craftsmen, journalists, business leaders… among others will sit in the new diversified Assembly. “The specialization profile is not sufficient within this Transitional Assembly,” remarks political analyst Siaka Coulibaly.
In view of the reforms to be undertaken, the Assembly should have been very specialized like the commission which worked on the charter, or else involve a larger number of people, according to this observer. “Certainly the commissions outside the Parliament will work and transmit the legislative proposals to the government and all this would be validated by the deputies”, underlines Siaka Coulibaly.
