Men’s 30 kilometers is one of the classic trips to the World Championships. It made his debut at the World Championship in Lahti in 1926 and cemented its position in the World Cup program as a 15-kilometer between 1954.
Throughout history, the journey has been skied both as a break and a joint start. In 2005, both skiing as both skiing, both skiing was shaped by Skiathlon.
Although skiing and racing forms changed over the years, thirty was a pristine part of the ski history.
The glorious tube ended on Saturday at Trondheim World Championships. For the first time, Skiathlon was skiing in the Value Races 20 kilometers long. Behind the change is the International Ski Association FIS, which decided two years ago to combine women’s and men’s ski trips.
The equality card meant that in the men’s personal competitions, the temporary start was reduced from 15 kilometers to 10 and from 30 Skiathlon to 20 kilometers. Thus, in Trondheim, men ski a total of 15 kilometers less than two years ago at the Planica World Cup.
The change of ski decision -makers brought more skiing to 25 kilometers to the women as Skiathlon extended from 15 to 20 kilometers and a long distance from 30 to 50 kilometers.
My own chapters are messages that reduced men’s shares by 2.5 kilometers and the women’s lengthening.
Rhinestone home
When the World Championships were last held in Trondheim in 1997, the most successful athlete of the Games Jelena Välbe It took all five of the women in the divided.
Since then, Välbe, who leads the skiing union in his country, has lost his face in international sporting circles because he has openly supported the offensive war in Ukraine in Ukraine.
Norwegian organizers hopefully hope that when the other World Championships in Trondheim ends in just over a week, at that time the son of the home village John Hösflot kläbo It would be the most successful athlete in Trondheim’s World Cup history.
So far, Kläbo’s balance is two gold from two races, and there are four more world championships in the men.
Before Saturday, Skiathlon was a trip to Kläbo, which he had not won at the value race. Two years ago in Planica Simen hegstad krüger Immediately after 15 kilometers, left KläBo, in the first long rise in the free skiing.
In Planica, skiers in Skiathlon toured a 3.6 kilometer free run, with 134 rising meters.
Thus, on average, a five -kilometer -rising distance was 154.5 meters. By comparison: In two weeks after the Hopeasompa skiing in Jyväskylä Laajavuori, young people are touring the Vitonen Loop, with 161 meters rising.
Pellegrino smelled its seam
Thus, the first 20 kilometer Value Cascades in history went anything but endurance terrain, which was made as a custom -made explosive tightening to a well -known Kläbo.
This had also been noted by another fast -paced, Kläbo and on Thursday Lauri Vuorinen between sprint silver Federico Pellegrino.
Although the 34-year-old Pellegrino has raised its level on distant trips, at the World Cup’s off-road starts in decent terrain, his difference is at the forefront of about one minute.
However, the advantage of skiers based on endurance properties is quickly eaten on an easy -to -skiing start -up on Saturday.
Pellegrino took the lead all the way as the Olympic winner-world champion Krüger tried to run away at the beginning of the loop-just to find the task impossible.
The reigning champion Krüger remained 12th, while Pellegrino reached fifth in the final and only a few inches from the medal.
It was a first -time showcase for Pellegrino, who had achieved as many as nine medals on sprint trips, in the Skiathlon of the Value Races. The reasons are that in previous races the distance was 30 kilometers combined with heavier tracks.
– It’s a pity. I don’t understand why this has come. I think this race should be longer and tougher, Krüger described the fate of his former parade trip in Swedish magazine To Aftonbladet.
Krüger’s frustration is easy to understand. The international ski bosses are bothered by men’s sustainability skiing, and on top of all their own racing organizers hit more staples on the stroller. The Trondheim World Championships are built around one star-and it’s not Krüger.
