– Claims that I am a front-page image are not true at all. I am interested in the future of the club I love, like everyone who has a Joker heart.

– (Joel) Harkimo has acquired this business through a business transaction and started assembling the project.
So comment Jarmo Koskinen In an interview with Urheilu on January 16, 2023.
Koskinen also said that he has “been with Joel Harkimo in discussions and pushing this issue”.
The thing that Harkimo and Koskinen are working on together is getting the Joker men’s ice hockey team to Mesti for next season.
Let’s examine the duo’s words.
So Koskinen said that Harkimo has started putting together the project. Harkimo, on the other hand, has denied being the face of this project – or any other.
Kröhöm.
Team Jokerit Oy is 100% owned by Joel Harkimo. And Harkimo has, let’s repeat again, assembled the project and pushed the issue.
If those details don’t meet the hallmarks of the bow image, I don’t know what else would be required for it.
Why can’t Harkimo say directly that he is the leader of this project, the figurehead?
The answer is probably simple.
Harkimo seems to know what is being thought about his role in the Jokerien’s new project where Harkimo and Koskinen’s project ultimately aims: in the SM league.
At the league office and among league clubs, the name Harkimo is not particularly popular. It’s even a swear word for some. The reason is clear. Joel’s father Harry Harkimo was responsible for one of the most shameful operations in Finnish ice hockey, when he took the Jokers to the Russian KHL league and sold the Helsinki arena to Russian oligarchs.
We all know how that venture ended.
And even though it’s now a son, not a father, the last name is still a red garment for most league bosses, like Also from Ilta-Sanomi’s report (you will switch to another service) it turns out.
Last fall, the league made it clear that the return of the Jokers to the SM league requires that the new company has no connections to the KHL era of clown shirts. And if the return ever happens, it will happen through Mestis.
Urheilu asked Jarmo Koskis what the financing of the club that wants to join Mesti next season consists of.
– I’m not going to open it, because it’s such a sensitive matter, was Koskinen’s answer.
A sensitive matter.
Who is it sensitive to? For Harkimo?
Weird concealment and embarrassing fogging. That’s what this duo’s tinkering looks like on the outside. There would even be some kind of openness, directness, and some proof of competence. But no. Everything is just so sensitive.
I thought last fall that the hype around the Jokers couldn’t get any more ridiculous. Then Jari Kurri seemed to hold the Jokers hostage.
After that Teemu Selänten instead of a group, Jokerit ended up in the hands of Joel Harkimo.
No one knows what will happen next. But everyone notices that Jokerit, led by Harkimo and Koskinen, is badly lost already.
Jokers do not have a home hall, the funding base is a “sensitive matter”, people’s roles are not openly disclosed. The project has no credibility whatsoever.
As I write this comment, the Jokers’ old paint song, the iconic Gonna Fly Now from the Rocky movie, started playing in my ears. It almost always hits my subconscious when I talk or write something about the Jokers.
Feelin’ strong now, won’t be long now…
Gonna fly now, Flying high now…
Then I thought of Koskinen and Harkimo’s project. The song stopped playing in my head.
