It is worthwhile to think about what to learn from Satakunta’s winter classic, writes Jussi Paasi, for the Hockey League teams and other sports clubs, writes Jussi Paasi.

A world -class event.
Such was the case in Pori last weekend twice. Rauma Lock and Pori Aces joined forces. The result was stunning on all meters.
Satakunta Winter Classic showed that you can know how to Härmä.
This comment could be filled with a sheer annoyance. It was such a great winter classic.
However, it may be more interesting to consider what all that Satakunta Hockey Clubs’ power display taught.
The most important lesson is: Do yourself, don’t expect others to do.
You would think it is self-evident, but it hasn’t been in the SM League. Last season, eight league clubs – by the way, the other side of the winter classic, Aces – wanted to create a model for the hockey main series that was frankly closed and against normal business.
The concern was that the financial differences between the clubs were increasing and that should not happen. Successful clubs wanted more and more money to distribute to those who did not succeed.
Unfortunately, it has been accustomed to it in the SM League. The smaller ones have been delicately with the purse of the bigger ones. For more information, contact Tappara’s office.
The winter classic showed that an extremely carefully designed and perfectly organized spectacle produces economic good. Aces and lock wrapped under present conditions For one weekend, both six -digit winnings.
Of course, this does not mean that now every league team should plunge to build the audits on the nearest artificial ice. The winter classic needs the right teams, the right scale, the right timing and a high quality implementation.
In Pori, everything fell into place, also the weather.
The same can work elsewhere, but everything must be as carefully calculated as in Satakunta now.
Categorize something of your own, something special, something that thrills your team’s fans. It does not have to be a winter classic in terms of proportions, but it must be self -made.
Don’t wait for the Jokers of Helsinki and think that the halls will be filled when the ferry shirts return to the SM League.
And it is not worth hoping for money from the sky as Veikkaus’ monopoly is demolished and the betting market opens to new players.
Of course, both of the above may be very great from the point of view of the league clubs. But the focus should still be about what each club does themselves.
Where can we be better than others? What new could we bring to match events, for example? And so on.
Such questions are sure to be swirled in most clubs. At least hopefully.
Still, too much time and energy still seems to be consumed by others, that is, competitors.
I hope the eight league clubs that last year was a fair amount of income sharing, realizing that it is fair to make money for themselves with quality and innovative work. One where even the smallest detail is carefully considered.
Just like Aces and Lock did last weekend.
