TV star Simon Gosejohann will soon be back with a new version of his show Comedystreet. The original ran on ProSieben from 2002 and was awarded the German Comedy Prize for the best hidden camera show excellent.
For seven seasons, the sketch or prank format invited viewers to laugh along on German television. Now it is getting a revival in a new broadcasting home.
Comedystreet relaunched by ProSiebenSat.1: Simon Gosejohann returns
Initially, 20 new episodes of Comedystreetwhich will be produced this summer by RedSeven Entertainment. However, they will no longer be broadcast on ProSieben on free TV, but on the streaming service Joyn, which belongs to the ProSiebenSat.1 group. Its program director Thomas Münzner said (via DWDL ):
Anarchic, quite childish, with a good dose of embarrassment and for this very reason so funny and timeless: we have never had a program like ‘Comedystreet’ on Joyn. Comedy is an exciting genre and the combination of Simon Gosejohann and ‘Comedystreet’ suits us perfectly.
From the 6th season in 2009, Gosejohann took on various roles not only to make fun of unsuspecting passers-by, but also celebrities. Individual sketches from the 7 seasons can still be found today on the show’s official YouTube channel:
