50 years of Bloody Sunday
It is one of the bloodiest episodes in the history of theNorth Ireland : a shooting during a demonstration of Catholic activists which left 13 dead, killed by British soldiers, in the city of derry, Londonderry for Unionists.
This event has inspired many Northern Irish authors, such as Jane Buckley, born here in the late 1960s. The author is writing her third novel, part of a series of four books called stone corner, the corner of the stones, in reference to a street corner where some young demonstrators were storing cobblestones to go and throw stones at the British soldiers, not really welcome.
