Fabienne Belotsi, Franco-Congolese designer imagines collections for active women. Pants, skirts, dresses, jumpsuits, coats or capes are produced in limited quantities and with care. The designer only works with noble materials: linen, cotton, silk, wool or cashmere. With her magic dress or her reversible clothes, she looks for a singularity in a detail, a nuance. This is the signature of his style: classic, chic and colorful.
To work, you have to be good about yourself. I must be settled, myself. I watch what is happening around me. For example, I walk around and I see a dress, a coat that I like, I memorize, I draw quickly and from there I associate everything and I create.
Fabienne Belotsi, founder of the brand Belotsi Paris
“ Belotsi is my family name, Belotsi means, in Africa, a strong woman. »
Fabienne Belotsi made dolls and dressed them as a child in Kinshasa. Passionate about fashion, couture, Parisian elegance, she arrived in Paris to realize her dream: to become a stylist. Diploma in hand, she exercises her profession for large houses. Then in 2010, she launched her label Belotsi Paris.
Unique pieces for active women
Today, all the pieces in its collections are made by hand, in a workshop nestled in the heart of Paris. Fabienne Belotsi adapts them to the style of every active woman.
“ I come from two cultures, my creations reflect this mixture. I don’t use fabrics that are too dark or cool colors, I like fabrics from the sun. I mix African fabrics with my creations. Now women love color. Before, in the office, you had to wear grey, black, brown, but today people ask me for color. The world is changing, it is no longer that of yesterday. Women like to be seen because a woman is defined by what she wears. »
The passions of Fabienne Belotsi
Fabienne Belotsi has three passions in her life: her children, her work and the help she wants to bring to women in difficulty.
“ I would like to help women who prostitute themselves because these women have no choice. They sell their body as an object. They say nothing, they are there and they are obliged to do so. I want to help these women to say no, to affirm that it is their body and to help them to do something else. I know that there are associations that already exist, but I too would like to help them,” concludes Fabienne Belotsi.
