Last year, the gas supply cost the municipality 17,000 euros. While the new negotiations are still ongoing, De Vries expects a price increase of up to 130,000 euros for 2023. This would increase the gas bill to almost 1.5 tons. The electricity bill for the municipality’s real estate is also going up sharply. According to De Vries, Baarn will probably pay about 4 tons for electricity next year, which is no less than 350,000 euros more than in 2021.
