The Coldplay frontman recently revealed that he only eats one meal a day. Good or bad idea ? Doctissimo takes stock.
If all nutritionists agree on the fact that it is important to divide your food ration into several daily meals, Chris Martin does just the opposite. Indeed, the singer recently revealed that he no longer has breakfast or dinner.
A diet perceived as a challenge by the songwriter
The singer said he was inspired by the diet of one of his friends.
“In fact, I don’t eat dinner anymore. I stop eating at 4 p.m.; I learned that while having lunch with Bruce Springsteen.“, he shared. “Last year, I had the chance to have lunch with him the day after a game against Philadelphia. I was already on a very strict diet. But since Bruce looked healthier than me, and only ate one meal a day, I thought, “Here we are. This is my next challenge..”
An “extreme” food routine, which comes shortly after the confidences of his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow on his diet … to say the least particular. This one had indeed revealed to consume only “vegetables and bone broth“to feed on a daily basis. A diet that is extreme to say the least.
NO to diets, YES to WW!
An extremely restrictive fast
Like his ex-girlfriend’s diet, intermittent fasting advocated by Chris Martin has been described as “dangerous” by health experts because “extremely restrictive“.
“Eating just one meal a day can increase the risk of binge eating, causing digestive upset such as bloating and constipation“, explains to the media Healthline Abagail Roberts, nutritionist.
She adds that intermittent fasting, despite having some advantages, “can disrupt the body’s circadian rhythm and negatively affect sleep patterns, which can lead to physical and mental health problems.”
For all these reasons, Chris Martin’s diet should not be replicated at home.
