Replace the outdoor seating with the ice scraper.
Now it is frosty at night and cold in large parts of the country.
– There are a lot of clouds, some glimpses of sun, patches of both rain, sleet and hail, says TV4’s meteorologist Linda Eriksson.
In the past week, several people have taken out their spring jackets, changed to summer tires and maybe had a cold beer in the sun at an outdoor restaurant. But now the weather will be cooler for the rest of the week as cold air flows down over the country.
– For a start now in northern Sweden it is actually minus degrees even during the day. In the south, the temperature may initially reach around ten degrees. There are a lot of clouds, some glimpses of sun, showers of both rain, sleet and hail. So it’s somewhat typical April weather, says TV4’s meteorologist Linda Eriksson.
Can you say it’s a bit of a bad weather?
– It’s a bit of a bad weather, yes. And above all, it is cold for the time of year.
Then the turn can come
Linda Eriksson warns that it may be time to get out the ice scraper as during the nights there is a risk of frost in almost the entire country. But the turnaround may come in the next week when the heat slowly starts to find its way back.
– There are indications that it is slightly warmer air that will begin to flow in over the country a little into next week. It is not super heat with upwards of 15-20 degrees that we see. But in any case about ten in the south and plus degrees in the north as well. So these sub-zero temperatures that we also have during the day in the north will disappear, she says.
There are currently no warnings out, but Linda Eriksson wants to send a small invitation.
– What you can watch out for because the air is so cold is if there has been rain or sleet during the day and there are still wet roads in the evening and it clears up, it could be that wet roads local time freeze on, she says.
