(Finance) – The Prime Minister, Georgie Melonsgave a speech in Bari at the signing ceremony of theAgreement for development and cohesion between Government and the Puglia region. Meloni opened his speech by thanking Minister Fitto. Today is the 21st cohesion agreement that we have signed, the last one. It is probably the last public initiative that I do with Fitto as government minister: in a maximum of two days he will have to resign to take on a role that should make us proud as Italians”, he declared.
“We are at our third maneuver”, continued Meloni, which is worth “30 billion, but overall with these agreements we make available almost 30 billion which becomes 45 if we consider the co-financing of municipalities, regions and even private individuals: it means that this government has actually made 4 financial ones in two years”. The Prime Minister wanted to underline that this is a “mobilisation” of resources “focused on investmentsin my opinion this is the most important and the most strategic of all.”
“It is a strategy that is bearing fruit overall – he added – because what we saw happen in 2023 in Noon must give us hope: a GDP that grows by 1% more than the national average, employment that grows more than the national average, companies from the South have been fundamental in relaunching theexportjoint-stock companies are growing, small and medium-sized businesses are growing, it can be said that the South has been the locomotive of Italy“.
“I know that not everything is going well – declared Meloni – but it means that things can change, if we join hands we invest in this pride and this capacity. We must believe in it and continue to work on these investments”https://www.Finance.it/DettaglioNews/77_2024-11-29_TLB/.”We must bet – concluded the Prime Minister – on the value and pride of the people of south, I never thought that the challenge was thewelfare as a response, the great challenge is to put these territories in a position to compete on equal terms, that’s what we are doing and the results are coming”.
