In Call of Duty: Warzone, the third season starts on April 3, which will be released during Black Ops 6’s life cycle. Activision has announced some exciting changes for the update, for which it could be worthwhile to take a look at the shooter.
On April 2, the Warzone servers will go offline for 24 hours. When returning, the large update of Season 3 is due. If you are unsure whether you should take the return to Call of Duty, we will show you 5 reasons that speak for it – and the first is of course the return of the most popular map.
The return of Verdansk
The first, obvious reason that speaks for a return: Verdansk returns to Warzone. The most popular map of the Battle Royales, with which everything started in 2020, comes back after years of absence and has a few changes in their luggage, which should be rather “subtle” without influencing the MAP combat flow.
For example, the water under the “Grazna Brücke” is now ankle -high instead of frozen as before to make steps better audible, without making it difficult to cross the water. Another example is building 3 in Storage Town, which now has an additional ladder so that it is a slightly less strong position.
If you are a fan of Verdansk or are dissatisfied with the current MAP selection, the return to Warzone could be worthwhile alone

Adjustments for the movement
With Black Ops 6, Call of Duty introduced the so-called Omni-Movement, which lets you sprint, jump and slide in every direction. There are also real pike jumps now. If you have not played a war zone since the release of Black Ops 6, it is worth a look alone.
If you already know the Omni-Movement and not be a fan of it, there is still good news for you: With Season 3, the Omni-Movement for Warzone is adapted so that it better fits the original gaming experience of the Battle Royales.
The changes include:
So it is primarily reduced and the cooldown for jumping is reduced, which may make it better to base again.
The return of 150 players
When Warzone started in 2020, up to 150 players fought for victory on Verdansk. In 2023, however, this number was reduced to 100 players per match. The original gaming experience returns with Season 3 and you can finally compete in Lobbies with 150 players again.
The shooting in free fall
Good news for nostalgics, bad news for everyone who had hated the feature in 2020: shooting in free fall also returns with Season 3 and enables you to shoot opponents with your 9mm starting gun before you have reached the ground at all.
Changes to the ranked cross play
Cross play is actually a cool idea, because it allows you to play with friends on another platform. In Call of Duty and other shooters, however, this is often not so attractive for console players, because the many cheaters are mostly active on PC-as now showed an evaluation of Activision (via callofduty.com).
In the meantime, however, there is good news for at least for console players: you can deactivate the cross play of Black Ops 6 and Warzone in Ranked. In addition, console players are now getting the option of only allowing the cross play with other consoles-Playstation players can play with their Xbox friends without being annoyed by PC cheather.
Expect the usual problems when you return
What speaks against a return? Since Warzone can be played for free, there is actually nothing against taking a look at the new season. If you do this, you have to expect the known criticisms.
The skill-based matchmaking is criticized as in Black Ops 6. The same applies to the AIM assistant in controllers, which many “mouse and keyboard” players continue to perceive as too strong, as well as server problems and the well-known package loss.
If you gamble on the PC, you will continue to meet cheaters. These are still a big problem. Appropriately, Activision has now commented on Shadowbanns and explained the system of “limited matchmakings”: Call of Duty speaks for the first time about Shadowbanns – they are really and your friends can be to blame
