CoD Warzone 2 loses one of its most important players because there is nothing to gain

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Aydan Conrad (23) is one of the highest earning Warzone players ever and is also active as a content creator for Call of Duty on Twitch and YouTube. But after a few months in the successor Warzone 2, Aydan is no longer interested and announces a break.

What kind of player is this? Aydan “Aydan” Conrad is considered one of the best Warzone players ever. He was the first to earn over $300,000 in Battle Royale, and is now the second highest-earning Warzone player with over $400,000 (via dexerto).

In Warzone 2, the 23-year-old wanted to continue his triumphal march, but less than half a year after the release, he’s tired – and he’s not the only one.

In addition to Call of Duty, Aydan is also in Fortnite. With the time he otherwise spends in Warzone 2, he would like to take a look at the Unreal Editor, among other things, which makes Fortnite look like a completely different game:

Doesn’t Warzone 2 offer enough incentives to play?

Why is Aydan quitting? In a video the content creator posted on Twitter on March 27, he announced his intention to withdraw from Warzone 2. For the player who describes himself as “super competitive,” there just isn’t enough up for grabs.

He misses the “high roller” bets with high stakes and tournaments with large prize pools that he knows from the original Warzone. These so-called “wagers” are pretty much dead, nobody there has wanted to play with him in the last few days.

There were already a few tournaments, but none of them came close to the $100,000 prize pool of the “OpTic Texas Warzone 2 Kickoff” for the release in November. According to Aydan, there are currently only Twitter tournaments that are not particularly worthwhile, sometimes there are not even enough participants.

Overall, the 23-year-old describes the game as “stale” at this point, there is nothing new or exciting. Since the competitive aspect is disappointing, all he can do is make content out of it – and there just isn’t enough of that. Without new content, he wouldn’t enjoy producing new videos for YouTube or TikTok either.

No farewell forever

What’s next? Aydan wants to withdraw from Warzone 2 for the remainder of Season 2, which according to the Battle Pass runs until April 12th. For Season 3 he wants to give the game another chance.

In addition, he wants to remain loyal to the CoD franchise, but focus on the ranked mode – which comes to Warzone 2 with Season 3.

In between, it should also be something completely different, like Creative 2.0 in Fortnite or Elden Ring. Maybe some distance can rekindle his passion.

How is that received? The video in which Aydan announces his break has been viewed more than 2.2 million times on Twitter. In the comments, viewers understand and vow to keep watching him no matter what he plays.
