A bug in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 frustrates Battle Royale players because they are supposed to buy Modern Warfare 2 in order to be able to gamble.
What is this bug? As some Warzone 2 players report on reddit, they cannot play shooter matches due to a bug. When attempting to join a new round, they are said to have received a message prompting them to purchase Modern Warfare 2.
As a free-to-play title, CoD Warzone 2 can be played for free independently of MW2.
A reddit post by the user Unf0cused only received 180 upvotes and 95 comments, but those affected keep reporting the problem on reddit. In the post, the player reports that he was able to play about 6 matches before the error first appeared. The bug is said to have prevented him from continuing to play.
In the comments of the reddit post there are also players who say that the bug also occurs with owners of Modern Warfare 2 (via reddit).
Workaround should help
Is there a fix for the bug? There is currently no patch from the developers that fixes the error. However, the online magazine Dexerto reports a workaround that is said to have worked for some players:
This workaround obviously doesn’t work for solo players. They can only try to help themselves by restarting the game, the PC/console or the internet connection. You should also make sure that you have the latest version of Warzone 2 installed.
Difficult start for Warzone 2
How did Warzone 2 start? In general, the start of Warzone 2 was not perfect and server problems and technical errors plagued the release.
But Warzone fans can breathe easy because the bug with the social menu has been fixed.
In addition, one feature stands out positively between the errors and server problems and is celebrated by the community: the proximity chat.
This ensures that you hear the voice chat of opposing players who are nearby, which can create strange situations.
