CoD MW3: Season 2 – Everything about the roadmap, start and content

Activision has unveiled Season 2 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 with a new trailer and roadmap. We’ll show you when the season starts and what new content awaits you.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been out for almost three months now. The first season of the shooter is currently running, but Activision has now announced the release date for the upcoming second season of CoD MW3.

The developers have also presented a roadmap that shows what content shooter players can look forward to in the next few weeks. We summarize all the important information for you here.

CoD: MW3 Season 2 Start – When is the release?

When does Season 2 start? The second season of CoD MW3 is scheduled to start on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. The update should then probably be available at 6:00 p.m. German time.

The second season of the shooter starts almost exactly two months after the release of Season 1.

CoD: MW3 Season 2 Roadmap – Maps, Zombies, Battle Pass

What does the CoD: MW3 Season 2 roadmap show? With Season 2, MW3 will receive a number of new maps for multiplayer mode, a new story mission for MWZ and four new weapons. But there is also a lot of other content planned, some of which will only appear later in the season.

CoD MW3 Season 2 – Four new maps and one remastered map

What new maps does Season 2 bring? Season 2 of CoD MW2 brings 4 new maps for multiplayer mode, available directly at the start of Season 2, as well as a remastered map from CoD: Vanguard, which will be added later in the season:

  • Stash House (6v6)
  • Vista (6v6)
  • Departures (6v6)
  • Operation Tin Man (War Mode)
  • The House (6v6), remastered CoD: Vanguard map – coming later in the season
  • Three of the new maps are designed for compact 6v6 modes. While Departures is a medium to large map, Stash House is rather small and is intended to offer chaotic battles. Vista is also medium sized.

    There will also be two special map variants of the Skidgrow and Airborne maps over the course of the season, which will be playable for a limited time as part of events.

    CoD MW3 Season 2 Zombies – New content for MWZ

    What new content is there for MWZ? CoD MW3 gets some new content for Zombie mode with Season 2, including a new story mission:

  • The “Dark Aether” story continues: Operation Deadbolt Strike teams are tasked with combating a new anomaly in the Exclusion Zone.
  • Enter the Second Rift: Imagine the largest infected Stronghold you have ever seen
  • New Challenges and Schematics: Unlock Prestige Tiers to receive Zombie Challenges and collect three new Schematics
  • Warlord Keres: You attempt to take down Keres, an elusive chemical warfare specialist who has built formidable defenses in the killhouse at the Orlov Military Base.
  • CoD MW3 Season 2 Battle Pass

    What does the Season 2 Battle Pass include? The Season 2 Battle Pass brings you Kate Laswell and TWD protagonist Rick Grimes as playable operators.

    Season 2 brings new modes, weapons and components

    What new modes does Season 2 bring? With Season 2 there will also be some modes that will be added to the shooter.

  • Team Gun Game (Coming at the start of the season)
  • A normal gun game, but played in a team and not free-for-all.
  • Snipers Only (Coming at the start of the season)
  • Here you play Domination and Team Deathmatch, but you are only allowed to use sniper rifles
  • Hordepoint (limited time, comes at the start of the season)
  • Hardpoint, but zombie hordes attack you when you are in the area to be captured
  • Juggermosh (limited time, mid-season)
  • A mode in the 3rd person perspective in which you continuously confirm a Juggernaut in kill, play Domination and Hardpoint
  • Bounty (Mid Season)
  • Similar to team deathmatch, you have to eliminate opposing players until a point limit is reached. The player with the most kills on a team is marked as a high value target and awards extra points if eliminated.
  • CoD MW3 Season 2: new weapons and aftermarket components

    What new weapons does CoD MW3 Season 2 bring? There will be a total of four new weapons released with Season 2, including a melee weapon.

  • BP50 (Assault Rifle) – Coming at the start of the season, available through the Battle Pass Sector B7
  • RAM-9 (Submachine Gun) – Coming at the start of the season, available via the Battle Pass Sector B6)
  • SOA Subverter (Battle Rifle) – Coming in season sale, available through weekly challenges
  • Soulrender (Melee) – Coming in season sale
  • There will also be new aftermarket components with which you can give new life to already known weapons:

  • JAK Burnout (Battle Pass)
  • Compatibility: Holger 26 (Light Machine Gun)
  • Gives the Holger a select fire mode called JAK Burnout, which provides a dramatically increased rate of fire but can overheat and expand the barrel, causing spread.
  • JAK Tyrant 762 Kit (Weekly Challenge)
  • Compatibility: Longbow (sniper rifle)
  • This conversion kit swaps the receiver and magazine to use 7.62 BLK ammunition for a more lethal subsonic weapon.
  • JAK Backsaw Kit (Weekly Challenge)
  • Compatibility: Holger 556 (assault rifle)
  • A conversion kit that makes the Holger 556 more maneuverable. The shaft is completely removed to allow for faster and more agile tactics.
  • JAK Limb Ripper (Weekly Challenge)
  • Compatibility: underbarrel attachment, various weapons
  • A chainsaw under the barrel
  • JAK Maglift Kit (Weekly Challenge)
  • Compatibility: Haymaker (Shotgun)
  • This weapon modification strengthens the magazine well, slide and trigger to accommodate the extra-large drum magazine.
  • JAK Outlaw-277 Kit (Weekly Challenge)
  • Compatibility: BAS-B (Battle Rifle)
  • Transforms the BAS-B into a lever-action rifle, slowing the rate of fire but significantly improving accuracy for greater precision.
  • JAK Glassless Optics (Weekly Challenge)
  • Compatibility: optics attachment, multiple weapons
  • A small, glassless reflex optic for fast target acquisition.
  • CoD Warzone – The Return of Fortune’s Keep

    With the launch of Season 2, the map Fortune’s Keep will return to CoD Warzone and enter Resurgence mode.

    In addition, a research ship will be added to Fortune’s Keep as a mobile POI and will roam the waters off the coast.

    In addition to a range of countermeasures, the ship also has a helipad and offers enough space to conduct battles on the deck.
