CoD: MW3 was released on November 8th and didn’t get off to a good start. Many fans are disappointed with the game. But Call of Duty wants to turn things around in Season 1 with new content and the return of a fan-favorite game mode.

Many fans are bothered by the game’s lack of new content and the campaign also disappoints many players. But Season 1 of MW3 is scheduled to appear later this year and, in addition to new content and maps, also wants to bring back the popular Gunfight 2v2 game mode.

Call of Duty announced some new content for Season 1 on their own blog. An exact start date is not yet known, but the season is scheduled to start in December of this year. However, the announced content should only be a small part of the upcoming innovations.

New game modes are set to appear in Season 1 for MW3 and the first one is a fan favorite. Gunfight should return and offer you 2v2 action again. With this, well-known maps should return for the mode. It is not yet known what these are, but the new Map Training Facility has been announced for the mode.

3 new maps will appear for the 6v6 modes:

  • The map Meat, the heart of which is a large slaughterhouse in the middle of the map
  • Greece is a coastal town full of Greek-inspired houses and surroundings
  • Rio transports you to colorful, narrow streets and a posh shopping center

    • Meat and Greece are scheduled to appear at the start of the season, with Rio following later.

    Zombie mode also receives new content in Season 1. This includes Enter the Rift. It’s intended to provide a new endgame challenge for people who will have completed the seasonal missions. In addition to a new weapon called Friend Zone, new blueprints will also be added to the mode.

    But according to the blog, that’s not all the new content and Season 1 will be presented in its entirety in the coming weeks.
