CoD MW2: Raid – access, raid key, rewards

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 brings the first PvE raid to the franchise. MeinMMO shows you how to play the raid, what the activity has to offer and what rewards there are for completing it.

What is behind the raid? This is a new activity in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Spec Ops mode. Raids are 3-player, non-matchmaking, and the game mode is called Raid.

You enter a complex, have to solve puzzles and fight against AI opponents. Raids continue the story of CoD MW2, come with a difficult veteran mode and there is a new PvE adventure every season. Every week you also have to get a kind of “raid key” in order to be able to start the activity at all.

More details about the new CoD PvE mode can be found here in the article. You can watch the raid trailer here:

CoD MW2: Raid – All information

What should I know beforehand? If you want to start the raid, you need 2 players. There is no matchmaking and you cannot start the mode if you are alone or with just two people.

Plan at least 2 hours if you want to do the raid in one go.

Also, don’t watch videos with solutions beforehand. According to initial reports, the puzzles make up a large part of the gaming experience. If you take a look at how the mechanics work beforehand, some of the appeal could be lost.

How can I play the raid? You must have purchased Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to play the raid. The mode is Spec Ops mode, which you can only play through CoD MW2.

You also have to get a raid key every week. This can be done in 4 different ways:

  • Complete a special challenge in CoD MW2 multiplayer
  • Complete a special challenge in CoD MW2’s Spec Ops mode
  • Be in the last 20 in a Warzone 2 Battle Royale
  • Extract at least 30,000 cash with the last extraction heli in DMZ mode
  • We recommend you the challenge in multiplayer mode. Press Quick Match and look at your current Daily Challenges in the top left. You don’t get XP for a challenge, but it says “Raid” here – that’s the raid key.

There are different challenges every day and you have to be lucky to get an easy one. For us, the day after the mid-season update, it was a very simple task:

  • Get 1 operator kill with drill charges
  • My favorite gadget in CoD MW2 is a nasty camper fright – 3 tips for use

Do all players need a raid key? no The complete team of 3 does not need a raid key. It’s enough if one of you has access, then you can take the others with you.

What’s up with Veteran Mode? This is a more difficult variant of the normal raid. You get access once you complete the normal raid.

What rewards are there? For completing the normal and veteran raids, you will receive 2 guaranteed rewards:

  • Normal Raid: Operator Gaz with a skin
  • Veteran Raid: Weapon Blueprint
  • Here is a picture of the Veteran Mode weapon skin:
