At the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 there is a fast food promo skin at Burger King. Not everywhere, though, and that’s why some fans are willing to pay up to $40 to wear a “Burger Town” t-shirt in multiplayer and Warzone.
What is this skin? It is an operator with combat helmet, tactical backpack, brown pants, gun holster and a “Burger-Town” t-shirt. “Burger-Town” is a fictional fast-food chain that fans should already be familiar with from Verdansk.
If you were concerned that the operator skin was an oversized burger mascot, we can reassure you. In the past, there were often skins that looked a bit out of place in the serious setting of Modern Warfare.
But with Modern Warfare 2, the Infinity Ward developers want to focus more on realism again. The chances that you will soon be flattened by an opponent in a Godzilla costume in Warzone 2 should have decreased accordingly.
The fact that skins in Call of Duty are not always purely cosmetic regularly causes trouble. Some skins are so dark that they give you advantages in Warzone.
You can check out the Operator skin in this promo video released by Burger King in Spain:
Activision is beating the advertising drum vigorously for the release
Where is the promo skin? Activision and Burger King have teamed up to promote the launch of the new entry in the Call of Duty franchise.
In 40 countries worldwide, Call of Duty fans can receive a promo code to order burgers and fries from Burger King. Although the promo event only takes place in selected countries, the skin itself can be redeemed from anywhere.
Fernando Machado, Activision Blizzard’s chief marketing officer, shared a photo on Twitter showing a Burger King store in Puerto Rico – all in the “Call of Duty” design.
Surprisingly, USA is not among the countries where one can get the promo code. Since the interest in exclusive items is still enormous, it didn’t take long for the first codes to be offered for sale on Ebay.
Over a dozen codes have already been sold on the auction platform. The sellers were able to achieve prices between 20 and 40 US dollars. There are currently even 51 offers for the skin listed on Ebay.
Call of Duty promotions with chips, soft drinks and now Burger King
Do we have the codes too? No, unfortunately you cannot get promo codes for the skin at Burger King in Germany. In France, Denmark, Spain and Switzerland, however, there is the campaign.
So if you live near the border or are planning a vacation in these countries in the next few days, you can get the operator skin there by ordering from Burger King.
However, we advise against responding to corresponding offers on Ebay or other platforms. There is simply no guarantee that you will actually get the codes in the end.

Hasn’t that happened before? In order to promote Call of Duty, Activision has often cooperated with fast food chains and snack manufacturers. There have already been several promo codes when purchasing Doritos chips or the Mountain Dew soft drink.
Most of the time, these codes could be redeemed for double in-game experience. But also weapon emblems or talismans were already available through promotional products.
What do you think of the “Burger Town” skin? Would you spend $40 on it? Is it unfair that there are no promo codes at Burger King in this country? Please leave us a comment!
