In 2022, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the next offshoot of the shooter series. Now a new teaser trailer has appeared – and even called Steam onto the scene.

Is there a Steam release for CoD: MW 2? It’s not 100% sure yet, but there’s a new hint that the series might return to Steam.

CoD: MW 2 released a new teaser, which not only received positive feedback from many fans, but was even shared on Steam via Twitter. The official Twitter account on Steam simply reposted the new trailer with a wide pair of eyes.

This fits in with the recent rumors that CoD: Modern Warfare 2 could be the first Call of Duty to appear on Steam in a long time.

The last Call of Duty on Steam was 2017’s WWII, so it’s long overdue to return.

But more information shouldn’t be too long in coming: the trailer explains that the official unveiling of the game will take place on June 8th.

By then it should be clear whether MW 2 will appear on Steam.

New teaser sweeps players away with dark atmosphere

This is the teaser: The video to which Steam responded is only a minute long, but it gets a lot of positive feedback from CoD fans.

You can see Taskforce 141, which is also supposed to play the main role in the new game. Captain Price and his squad head towards the battlefield in a dark transport to the accompaniment of ponderous, emotive music.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II “Ultimate Team” teaser

The music only picks up briefly towards the end – exactly when the light breaks through the open doors into the transporter and the team goes into battle.

The short but atmospheric video is well received in the comments:

  • “I loved the campaign of the first game. I have a feeling this game is going to be even better,” says one user (via YouTube).
  • “This is going to be the dark and somber experience we’ve come to know and love,” agrees another fan (via YouTube)
  • “Just looking at the team got me hooked again, and I’ve been skeptical of CoD for years” (via YouTube).

    • What is already known about MW 2? So far there is little information about the game. The only thing that is certain is that the game will be a sequel to the 2019 reboot.

    It will feature well-known characters Simon “Ghost” Riley, Captain John Price, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, John “Soap” MacTavish and newcomer Alejandro Vargas.
