When the cocaine, around 380 kilos, was moved from a cargo ship to a motorboat, around 50 kilos were lost in the sea outside Gothenburg.

The cocaine packages were found in the summer of 2020 when they floated ashore on Styrsö.

Now four more men are being sentenced in the tangle, which has been called one of the biggest cocaine deals in Swedish criminal history.

The Gothenburg district court sentences the four men to between 1 and 8 years in prison for particularly serious drug offences.

Among the evidence against the men are accounts from an encrypted app cracked by French police.

“Decisive for the district court’s assessment has been to link the accused persons to the various unique accounts used in the Sky ECC application,” says councilor Patrik Claeson in a press release.

In the past, around 15 people have been sentenced for handling parts of the drug gang.
