Duke Nukem forever
Legendary, the studio behind the American Godzilla films, now wants to benefit from this. The game developer Gearbox has decided to Rights for a film adaptation of Duke Nukem caught. Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who co-created Cobra Kai, are set to produce the film, the Hollywood Reporter reports.
According to the report, they are currently looking for someone to write the script and the direction has not yet been decided. However, it is possible that someone from the Cobra Kai team will take over the job. All three have directing credits on their Karate series, and Schlossberg and Hurwitz have feature film experience on Escape from Guantanamo.
More 25 years in production hell could come to an end
Since Duke Nukem 3D caused a stir back then, Hollywood has also been interested in the material. In 1996, producer Lawrence Kasanoff (Mortal Kombat) gave his Plans for a Duke Nukem movie known and over the years he was followed by a number of others who resigned for various reasons.
The last sign of life came in 2018 when future The Suicide Squad star John Cena Duke was set to bring Nukem to the cinema. So now another studio is trying. Will it work this time?
